Apache – CVE-2012-0031

Description

Cytrix has detected that the Version of Apache HTTP Server being used is vulnerable to a ‘scoreboard parent DoS’ (Denial of Service).
Also known as CVE-2012-0031.

By abusing A flaw in the handling of the scoreboard, users can cause a Denial of Service through ‘daemon crash during shutdown’.
That will lead to processes crashing at shutdowns instead of properly terminating.
It will lead to information being disclosed, assisting attackers in performing attacks against your assets.

There’s a chance that this vulnerability will allow attackers to modify system files and information.
Also, it may lead to a decrease in performance and interruptions in the availability of resources.

Recommendation

To fix CVE-2012-0031, upgrade the version of Apache HTTP Server being used to either 2.0.65 or 2.2.22.
